A big congratulations to all the housing associations who won and congratulations to all the housing associations who were shortlisted - to get through to this stage was an achievement in itself with competition this year between entries extremely high.

Also a big thank you also goes out to those housing associations that unfortunately did not make it through to the shortlist. We are very aware of the considerable hard work and dedication that went into your entries, sadly you did not make it through this time but we hope you will try again in 2009!

Winners were announced at our glittering ceremony on 18 September 2008 at the National Housing Federation annual conference in Birmingham.

A big thank you to everybody who entered this year and made the 2008 awards a great showcase for innovative and life changing projects .

The standard of entries in 2008 has been very high and our tenant judges have been impressed with the level of detail and work that has been put into many of the submissions.

The awards celebrate the work that comes from housing associations' commitments to customers, neighbourhoods and excellence.

These awards are unique because they are judged by tenants from across the country. One overall winner is selected from among the category winners by a panel of experts.

Tenant judges

A call for tenant judges

The success of the Neighbourhood Awards has been largely due to the participation of over 80 nominated tenant and resident judges.

As part of our ongoing commitment to tenant and resident participation in the judging process of the Neighbourhood Awards, we asked again for nominations for tenants and residents to judge in 2008 and, we have to say, we weren't dissappointed. Well over 100 this year participated!
